Program Overview
The Wound Care Technician Program is a comprehensive, hands-on training course designed to prepare allied health professionals to safely and effectively assist with wound care across hospitals, long-term care facilities, clinics, and home-health settings.
This program provides in-depth instruction in:
- Skin anatomy and wound-healing principles
- Wound assessment and measurement
- Infection control and aseptic technique
- Dressing selection and application
- Pressure-injury staging and prevention
- Diabetic, venous, arterial, and traumatic wound management
Clinical Skills Training
Students will train in a true clinical-skills environment using:
- Wound simulation mannequins
- Practice pads and sterile supplies
- Realistic patient scenarios
- Documentation and reporting exercises
Training is designed to build confidence, precision, and professional competency.
Although wound care technicians work under the supervision of licensed nurses or providers, they play a vital role in the healing process. This program equips students with the knowledge, professionalism, and technical skills needed to contribute effectively within wound-management teams.
Completion Outcome
Graduates will receive a Certificate of Completion.
