Program Length: 4 clock hours
Format: In-person
Schedule: Saturdays as needed

Program Overview

The IV Placement Program provides focused, hands-on training in safe and effective insertion, care, and management of peripheral intravenous catheters. Coursework includes vein identification and selection, equipment and supply preparation, and recognition of potential complications and side effects associated with IV therapy.

Clinical Skills Training

Under instructor supervision, students will practice:

  • Peripheral IV insertion techniques
  • Catheter removal
  • Vein selection and assessment
  • Site care and maintenance

Training includes:

  • Use of anatomical models
  • Step-by-step skill demonstration
  • Individual competency validation

All necessary supplies and training materials are provided.

Eligibility Requirements

Participants must hold an active certification as one of the following:

  • EMT
  • RN
  • LPN
  • PCT
  • Medical Assistant
  • Phlebotomist

Completion Outcome

Upon successful completion, students will receive a certificate of competency in IV placement, demonstrating verified skill proficiency for clinical practice.
