Program Overview

The Wound Care Technician Program is a comprehensive, hands-on training course designed to prepare allied health professionals to safely and effectively assist with wound care across hospitals, long-term care facilities, clinics, and home-health settings.

This program provides in-depth instruction in:

  • Skin anatomy and wound-healing principles
  • Wound assessment and measurement
  • Infection control and aseptic technique
  • Dressing selection and application
  • Pressure-injury staging and prevention
  • Diabetic, venous, arterial, and traumatic wound management

Clinical Skills Training

Students will train in a true clinical-skills environment using:

  • Wound simulation mannequins
  • Practice pads and sterile supplies
  • Realistic patient scenarios
  • Documentation and reporting exercises

Training is designed to build confidence, precision, and professional competency.

Although wound care technicians work under the supervision of licensed nurses or providers, they play a vital role in the healing process. This program equips students with the knowledge, professionalism, and technical skills needed to contribute effectively within wound-management teams.

Completion Outcome

Graduates will receive a Certificate of Completion.
