This program covers the essentials of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. Students learn about OSHA regulations, HIPAA standards, safety issues, and the protocols that all phlebotomists must follow. Students are taught a variety of blood collection procedures, including heel sticks, finger sticks, skin punctures, cultures, and fluid collection. Students are taught about infection prevention and contagion. In addition, they learn about quality specimen practices. Students are required to perform 30 venipuncture and 10 dermal punctures.

This course is designed for those individuals who have taken a phlebotomy course within the past 2 to 3 years and need to refresh their skills. This course aims to reinforce proficiency in blood specimen collection, handling, and processing while emphasizing infection control measures and compliance with regulatory standards, ensuring participants maintain competency and confidence in their phlebotomy practice.
This course is 3 days for a total of 12 hours.

Intravenous Placement
During our Intravenous Placement course, you will learn the proper way of Inserting, using, caring for, and managing small peripheral IV catheters. Curriculum covers vein location and identification, vein selection criteria, equipment and supply choices, and possible IV therapy side effects. At the conclusion of the course, the instructor will conduct individual competency validation. Materials for practicing the insertion and removal of peripheral IV catheters using anatomical models will be provided.

Requirements: You must have a certification in one of the following EMT,RN,LPN,PCT,MA, or PHLEBOTOMY in order to register for the course.

Students will receive a certificate after successful completion of this course.
