Program Overview

The EKG Hybrid Course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and practical skills required to perform accurate electrocardiograms in today’s healthcare settings. This flexible learning model combines online instruction with hands-on laboratory training, offering a comprehensive and convenient educational experience.

Through the online component, students learn core concepts including cardiac anatomy and physiology, electrophysiology, medical terminology, lead placement, rhythm interpretation, patient preparation, and essential safety standards. Interactive modules and assignments support mastery of both normal and abnormal cardiac rhythms.

Laboratory Training Experience

During in-person lab sessions, students receive supervised, hands-on practice in:

  • Proper electrode and lead placement
  • Operating EKG equipment
  • Obtaining clear and accurate tracings
  • Identifying and preventing artifacts
  • Preparing and positioning patients

These sessions are led by experienced instructors to ensure skill development, confidence, and clinical readiness.

Completion Outcome

Upon successful completion of the 6-week program, students will be prepared to sit for a national certification exam and pursue employment as an EKG Technician.
